In Your Hour of Trial, What Will You Do?

Most of us have had some tough times in our lives. It is a part of our fallen world. So where do you turn for strength during days of trial? In this week’s sermon we will look at an event in Jesus’ life as an example of how to handle those tough moments.

Scripture: John 19:25-27
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Renewing Reflections
It is our prayer Renewing Reflections will be a blessing in your life this coming week. This quote is taken from the sermon “A Voice in the Storm” delivered on Christian Crusaders September 26, 2004 by Rev. Larsen:

"Your son has enlisted in the Marine Corps and is about to be sent to Iraq. You have read that more than 1,000 young men and women from our country have died in this war. Thousands have been wounded. Could this be the fate of your son, whom you love so much? That is an emotional hurricane. You need an anchor, and that anchor is the promise of God’s Word. The Lord has not promised that your son would return home. However, He has said he would walk with him."

An Easy Way to Help Spread the Gospel
Christian Crusaders would like to thank all those who help carry out the mission of this ministry through their gifts and prayers. One way you can help Christian Crusaders reach out is to add a link to www.ChristianCrusaders.org on your church or organization’s Web site. This is a simple way you can introduce others to a source of biblical truth over the radio and Internet.

On the Light Side
Mr. Jones loved the outdoors. Because of his passion for hunting and fishing, his family ate a considerable amount of wild game.

One evening, as Mrs. Jones sat a platter of broiled venison steaks on the dinner table, ten-year-old Chloe Jones looked up and said: “Boy, it sure would be nice if pizzas lived in the woods.”
